COCA-COLA DOESN’T WANT YOU TO BUY YOUR DRINKS IF YOU’RE NOT GOING TO RECYCLE

Ingenious marketing campaigns echo the current problem regarding the recycling of plastics. This is the case of Coca Cola, which has just launched a straightforward slogan in Belgium and the Netherlands: “Don’t buy Coca-Cola if you don’t help us recycle. ” A clear and surprising message that can be read in the most available places of both countries and also in their social networks.

The company, based in Atlanta and a worldwide presence with brands such as Sprite, Fanta, Nordis, Nestea, Aquarius or Minute Maid, intends to recycle all the packaging of its products in 2025.

It also plans to use at least 50 percent recycled plastic in the manufacture of the bottles. It is not easy since in Belgium recycled plastic does not exceed 26 percent.

Therefore, the company invests in fairs and events to promote recycling and will market 100% recycled plastic sodas for the first time in its history.

These actions are added to those carried out in Italy through fences arranged on roads, bus stops or events that expressly indicated with a long arm and a finger to the point where containers are arranged for the recycling of plastics, bricks, and cans. The motto, “open, taste, and recycle with us.”

Initiatives that want to put an end to this material whose production is highly polluting. One more fact: in Spain, only three out of ten plastic cans are recycled, according to Greenpeace.
